Edwin Napoleoni born in 1957, the second of eight children born to Raul and Rosa Napoleoni, and was raised in Spanish Harlem. Raul was a union printer, while Rosa was a housewife and homemaker. Edwin graduated from high school in 1975. He entered the apprenticeship program in 1978 and completed his apprenticeship in 1984. Edwin also earned his Associate Degree in Labor Studies from the Empire State College in 1983.

Brother Napoleoni has served as a Journeyman, Shop Steward, Sub-Forman and Foreman in Local #3. Edwin has also taken various courses offered through the Educational Department of Local #3 which include: NYC Electrical Code Class, Supervision training , OSHA 10 Construction safety , Confined Space, Supported Scaffold Certification, Lockout/Tag-out Electrical Safety, CPR/AED training and certification, Networking Testing equipment , Basic/Advance Estimating course, Citizenship Responsibility, and Boatswain chair, rigging and rope class. He also trained in Fiber terminating and Wire-scope 350 Cable and Fiber Analyzer Principles. Edwin serves on Local #3, Wage and Policy Committee and was elected to serve on the 2010 Contract Negotiating Committee.

Edwin has been an active member of the Santiago Iglesias Educational Society since 1982 and has always played a major role in its success. He has played on the S.I.E.S. softball team, was co-chair of the S.I.E.S. Family Picnic at Bayberryland, co-chair and entertainment chairman for many of our annual dances, involved in the building of the Cultural Center at Bayberryland, participated in many political campaign drives with the organization, has served as S.I.E.S. committeeman, serves as a Board of Director and is Chairman of the S.I.E.S Annual Blood Drive. Edwin was President of the S.I.E.S. Credit Union, served as Treasurer of the Jose Lopez Memorial Scholarship Fund as well as co-chair of the Jose Lopez 5-k walk/run. Edwin volunteered his time with the Federal Electra Credit Union from 2002 to 2008. Edwin also serves the Electhester community where he resides by serving as the Treasurer of the Electchester Little League.

Currently, Edwin is pursuing a Bachelor degree in Economics at Queens College. Edwin has taken Effective Communication classes at Cornell University. He participates in the MS and Diabetes 60 miles bike tour, volunteers at Pacifica Radio WBAI 99.5 “Winter Pledge Drive, and enjoys playing softball, biking, Tennis and is a Certified P.A.D.I. Open Water Diver.

Edwin lives in Electchester with his wife Mercedes, and is the proud father to Edwin Napoleoni Jr, and his two step-daughters, Jamie and Victoria.
