Edwin Rodriguez

 

Edwin Rodriguez was born and raised in The Bronx, he is the middle child of three brothers. His father was born in Cuba and mother was born in Puerto Rico. Eddie attended Samuel Gombers High School where he graduated with top honors. In the Fall of 1978 he was initiated into Local Union #3, “A”-Apprenticeship program where he served on the Apprentice Advisory Committee and as the Committee’s Chairman. Eddie continued his education at both Empire State College and City College majoring in Electrical Engineering.

During his thirty plus year membership in Local #3, Edwin has held positions as lay-out man, sub-foreman and foreman. Eddie has also volunteered countless hours empowering his fellow co-workers through education by serving as an Instructor of the Defensive Driver Course, Commercial Drivers License class and the C.P.R class offered by the Education and Cultural Fund. Eddie is also an instructor for the M.I.J. Boot Camp Program. Eddie serves on local 3’s Wage and policy committee.

Eddie has been an active member of the SIES since 1978, he has served on many of the Society’s committees and was also the Entertainment Chairman for many of the Society’s Dinner Dances and has served as a Committeman, Board of  Directors and currently is the Finance Secretary. Eddie has been a member of the Westchester Mechanics and is an active member of the Bronx Acorn Club and Electrical Square Club.

Edwin lives in Electchester. He is the proud father of four children and two grandchildren. In his spare time, Eddie enjoys traveling, playing stickball, paddleball, dominos and dancing.
